Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon Robert Otto, MD, specializes in performing joint replacement surgeries, including full, partial, revision, and robotic-assisted procedures. Dr. Otto is part of the Southern Joint Replacement Institute and has offices in Nashville and Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Dr. Otto attended Saint Louis University (SLU) in Missouri, completing his bachelor’s degree in 2002. For his medical degree, Dr. Otto studied at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in Kansas City, Missouri, graduating in 2007.
He moved back to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine for his orthopaedic residency before joining the Southern Joint Replacement Institute and completing an adult reconstruction fellowship in 2014. Dr. Otto was in private practice for 2 years in St. Louis prior to joining SJRI in 2016.
By focusing on joint replacement, Dr. Otto has been able to optimize his expertise to benefit his patients. He welcomes adults of all ages to his practice, where he aims to relieve the misery of joint pain and disability through advanced joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Otto is a third generation orthopaedic surgeon. His twin brother is an orthopaedic shoulder surgeon in St. Louis. He is married to Maryann, an obstetric anesthesiologist. They keep busy raising their 5 boys.
